We’re thrilled to announce the release of our beautifully illustrated book, “Grandma’s Hands,” painted by multiple award-winning artist R. Gregory Christie and published by Joel Harper’s Freedom Three Publishing in collaboration with the Withers Family’s Mattie Music Group.
The stunning 32-page picture book brings the iconic Bill Withers song “Grandma’s Hands” to life with vivid, emotive illustrations depicting a young Bill finding comfort and unconditional love in his grandmother’s care. It’s a universal message highlighting the impact our elders have on shaping who we become. Sony Music’s Legacy Recordings enlisted Martian Blueberry, an award winning creative agency specializing in animation and cofounded by Carl Jones (renowned for producing Adult Swim’s, The Boondocks, and Black Dynamite) to bring the book to life via a short music video. The music features a new version of “Grandma’s Hands” with Bill’s daughter, Kori Withers.
